Poster Design
for Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Room Exhibition at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen
Poster Design
For this poster, I envisioned a clean and minimalist aesthetic that simultaneously reflects the variety, playfulness, and vibrant visual identity found across the Boijmans museum’s exhibitions and website. Drawing inspiration from the museum’s official brand colors, I applied these hues to the letters to emphasize the diversity of its exhibitions. The central placement of the iconic 'B' logo serves as the focal point, highlighting the museum’s strong graphic identity, consistent throughout its publications and physical space. (www.boijmans.nl/nl)
ProcessBoijmans Van Bueningen is located in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and is one of the oldest museums in the Netherlands. The museum boasts a vast collection showcasing works from the Middle Ages to the 21st century. In 1859, Boijman’s collection was acquired, and Van Beuningen’s collection was added in 1958. The museum has extensive archives of Bruegel, Rembrandt, Monet, Van Gogh, Mondrian, Dalí, and more. Boijmans’s collection is a combination of old and modern art: from old art to design and from surrealism to contemporary installations.
From this original version, I made several changes to get to the final version: I simplified Boijmans’s B illustration, increased leading for the text in the top left corner to give each word more emphasis and individuality, separated the opening hour information from the rest of the text, and gave the line various colors and increased font size.
I decided to change the color of opening hours from purple to yellow because yellow provided better visibility. I also moved the very first line upward and gave more space between the first line and the rest of the text. Additionally, I increased the font size and added color to the first line of text
Poster Design
for an exhibition at the furniture showroom GUBI
GUBI is a Danish furniture design company founded in 1967, known as a trendsetter blending classic and modern aesthetics. It incorporates diverse products from various design houses, emphasizing luxury through geometric patterns, brass fixtures, and minimalistic yet colorful palettes. During my visit to Gubi’s showroom, I was particularly inspired by the bold geometric lines formed by their furniture and distinctive light fixtures. Focusing specifically on lighting design, this poster advertises an imaginary exhibition titled “Lights: A Cloud of Luminosity”. (www.gubi.com)
ProcessI illustrated Gubi’s iconic lamps, simplifying their forms and arranging them as if suspended from the ceiling, recreating the showroom’s sense of space. Subtly integrated within these illustrations is Gubi’s logo, recognizable yet understated. The lamps use colors prominently featured on Gubi’s official website, reflecting the brand’s identity, while gold accents complement the monochromatic lines to evoke the brass elements characteristic of Gubi’s light fixtures.
Textile Design
Textile Pattern Design: Inspired by Copenhagen
Designed a textile pattern inspired by the city of Copenhagen and Scandinavian aesthetics. I drew inspiration from the colorful, glowing lights seen throughout the city—especially how they created a vibrant, dynamic energy when set against dark environments. Referencing lightbulbs spotted in a Swedish restaurant and on Copenhagen streets at night, I developed simplified graphic elements in my initial sketches, capturing the essence of the lights while maintaining a cohesive sense of space and atmosphere.
