Creating a poster inspired by Arne Jacobsen and his Egg Chair

Tools: Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)

Arne Jacobsen’s Egg Chair: Digital Collage

πŸ–ŠοΈ Sketches

Based on the sketches below, I ensured the chairs faced the same direction and unified them in a single color against a white background, aiming for a simple and clean aesthetic in the final version. Additionally, I adjusted the placement, size, and color of the main text and subtext.

The assignment required the images to have text on top to underscore the idea of a (digital) collage.

πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸ’» Research

Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971), a Danish architect, embraced a holistic design approach, creating not only architecture but also industrial products integrated into the overall building design. Described as international in a Danish way and Danish in an international way, Jacobsen's design philosophy transcended borders.

In 1934, Jacobsen started collaborating with Fritz Hansen, a Danish furniture manufacturing company, focusing on producing lamps, light fixtures, and iconic chair designs. One such design was the Egg Chair (1958), originally crafted for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, hailed for its seamless blend of functionalism and Scandinavian aesthetics.
